Mike Posey and his wife Jeannie, have been downtown homeowners since June of 1999. Having moved here from Yorba Linda, Mike and Jeannie chose to relocate to Huntington Beach to be close to the ocean and its climate.
Mike and Jeannie owned and operated Advan-Tech Woodworking Machinery in Huntington Beach from 1999 until January of 2009. Advan-Tech sold high tech industrial machinery throughout Southern California.
Prior to him being elected to the council in 2014, Posey served on the 4th of July Parade board and then as a Planning Commissioner. Posey voted in favor of such controversial issues such as the rezoning of the Warner Nichols site from high density residential to more suitable industrial/commercial, the reconfigured Pacific City commercial/retail development, building the Pacific City hotel, building the Marriott Springhill Suites on Edinger, and remediation of the City gun range to prepare the land for future development.
Posey is a member of the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis International's Huntington Beach chapter. He also serves on the Advisory Board for the Bolsa Chica Conservancy, and while Planning Commissioner, served as the liaison for both the Huntington Beach Sustainability Committee and Downtown Economic Task Force.
